To those of you who are involved in the radiom project and the American
Mavericks project, I send the biggest "TTHANK YOU" possible. We can live in
any place that strikes our fancy and, via Internet, keep in touch with a
good part of the contemporary music scene. Fortunately, I live where I can
get CBC radio and they feature much new Canadian music and also the whole
American Mavericks series. I've not heard this series on any NPR stations.
I guess there aren't enough non"Rollo" subscribers to warrant risking the
airing of these programs. Anyway, the Mavericks site's listening section is
BOSS, BAD, FANTASTICD, IT RULES, SOLID GONE. Although this isn't likely, I
like to think that the computer's circuits are somehow influenced by, say,
the serenity of Harrison's "violin and American gamelan" or Cage's "Dance
/Four Orcdhestras" and the in-yer-faceness of Antheil's pieces. And even
without the benefit of surround-sound, might they "inkle" a bit over Ice
Field?
