April  13- Darren Johnston will perform his solo piece based on the 
concept of “organicism.” He will limit the number of musical elements 
he works with from the beginning, and allow all subsequent variations 
to develop organically from this stem of musical thought. The work is 
for solo trumpet with some basic electronics, for access to a denser 
sound world. Darren has a background in a wide variety of music styles 
and has performed with groups such as Adam Lane’s Full Throttle 
Orchestra to blues with Buddy Miles.
