On this Music from Other Minds, Liam Herb plays new releases, including Anqi Liu‘s a window on absurd, evanescent scenes (2023) for chamber ensemble and electronics, Daniel Lentz‘s 1974 composition North American Eclipse, a series of new works by Amina Claudine Meyers and Wadada Leo Smith inspired by Central Park, and Olivia Block’s October, 1984 for orchestra, field recordings, and found tapes.

Bookending this program are works by Larry Polansky (1954-2024)—Piano Study no. 5 (1977) and ii-v-i (2017)—a small tribute to his life and work after his passing this last week.
